Keka for MAC
Free Mac file archiver: create and open 7z, ZIP, RAR, TAR and many more, with passwords and split archives.
Keka Overview
Keka is the macOS file archiver. Drag files and folders onto Keka to compress them into a smaller archive, or double-click an archive to extract it. It creates 7z, ZIP, TAR, GZIP, BZIP2, XZ, LZIP, DMG and ISO files, and opens many more formats, including RAR, 7z, ZIP, TAR, ISO, DMG, LZH and CAB. You can protect archives with a password using AES-256 encryption, split large archives into parts, and exclude Mac-only files such as .DS_Store. Keka is made by Jorge García in Barcelona.
Keka is free to download from its website. The same app is also sold on the Mac App Store, where buying it supports development and brings automatic updates through the App Store; you can also send the developer a tip. Keka runs on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and there is also a Keka app for iPhone and iPad.

What is the difference between the website and Mac App Store versions?
None in features. The developer says the Mac App Store version is the same app, only updated through the App Store, and buying it supports development.
Can Keka open RAR files?
Yes. Keka extracts RAR archives, along with 7z, ZIP, TAR, ISO, DMG, LZH, CAB and many others.
Can Keka create RAR files?
No. RAR is a closed format, so Keka can only extract it. Keka creates 7z, ZIP, TAR, DMG, ISO and other open formats.

Choose 7z or ZIP, enter a password in Keka's window, then drop your files. Keka encrypts the archive with AES-256.
